PETER MURPHY

Managing Director

Peter is the MD, founding member and joint owner of OPEC Systems and has over 25 years’ experience in the environmental engineering and consulting industry. Peter holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) and has competencies in Complex Project Management, Inter-Party Negotiations, Business Development and Training. Peter has led a number of complex projects for State/Federal Government agencies.

DAVID BURNS

Commercial Manager

David is OPEC Systems Chief Scientist and Commercial Manager (Enviro) for Emerging Contaminants (PFAS and non-PFAS co-contaminants) and is the co-inventor of OPEC Systems patent pending Surface Active Foam Fractionation (SAFF) technology. David has a qualification in chemistry (B.Sc) and was a founding director/ general manager of LabMark laboratories (1997-2008). Business interests include: chasing opportunities, scaling trial designs with project engineers, mobile laboratories, formalising SAQP supply chains & chemical safety, and applying green chemistry & sustainable engineering to obtain
commercial advantages.

JON HEFFER

Project Manager, Oakey Water Treatment Plant

Working as Project Manager, Jon is responsible for oversight of OPEC Systems Water Treatment Plant at Oakey. Jon has an Environmental Science and Geography degree and a wealth of experience working previously in field and project management internationally. Jon had great success managing a reed bed system to remove hydrocarbons from ‘produced water’ in The Sudan and has also specialised in ground water remediation within Australia.

ADDAM WELLS

Project Director, Oakey Water Treatment Plant

In the capacity of an Engineer, Addam has acquired over thirty years post-graduate experience. During this time, he has been mostly employed in Project Engineering/ Project Management roles. By virtue of employment within multi-skilled, multi-national workforces, Addam has gained the interpersonal skills to integrate within any workplace and has always enjoyed a reputation of being a hard-working, supportive and dependable ‘team player’ come ‘team leader’, while maintaining a genuine commitment to safe and efficient work practices.
