An Australian railway transport company asked OPEC Systems to undertake the ten yearly inspection and maintenance of their diesel storage tanks that form part of an Aboveground Petroleum Storage System (APSS) servicing their refuelling facility in Sydney, NSW.
The primary objective of the works was to carry out the ten yearly inspection and maintenance requirements in accordance with AS1940-2017 and API653.
The works included an online external inspection; offline internal inspection; return to service; control valve and manway gasket replacement; tank annular to foundation seal replacement; bulk fuel tanks exterior resurfacing; and bulk tanks interior resurfacing.
OPEC’s successful completion of the above mentioned scope comes with much positive feedback from a pleased client. “OPEC’s safety management and documentation is by far a cut above the rest”, they said. This project involved multiple personnel including subcontractors working on a daily basis in and around the railway network. OPEC takes pride in receiving such positive accolades and will continue to set a standard for the Bulk Fuel maintenance and servicing environment.
