Description:

Remediation project WP1

WP1 also contained works for a small building at Waterhen, Garden Island (bund water separation system) and Chowder Bay (E-stop shutdown system at bulk storage system, electrical upgrades)

OPEC scope:

OPEC was engaged to remediate, replacing non-compliant equipment like pumps, valves, safety systems, electrical works, access stairs and tank platforms.

Challenges/solutions:    

Eliminate support requirement for platforms in potentially contaminated bunded area. Solved by developing a cantilevered platform structure.

Limited space for replacement of MIMS cabling. Solved by introducing of elevated cable bridging in DFI tank farm, allowing 60% capacity for future works.

Innovations:

Upgrade to Coalescer/Filter dry sampling and drainage system, to eliminate/reduce exposure of operators to product.
