OPEC Systems announces new appointment for Defence division

OPEC Systems is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Ransom as Manager – Defence Services. Mike will oversee remediation of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and toxic remnants of war within the company’s Defence Division.

Mike brings with him a wealth of expertise gained at Australian company Milsearch, where he was engaged for 14 years as the General Manager with responsibility for UXO remediation across Australia, New Zealand, the South West Pacific and South East Asia.

New Zealand born Mike also comes to OPEC off the back of 24 years’ military experience with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where he worked as an Armament Technician and as the Senior Inspector of Explosives.

“UXO remediation is a highly specialist area, and the skill base at this senior level means it can be challenging to find the ideal candidate. As it happens, Mike is a perfect fit for this role, and we are really pleased to welcome him aboard,” said OPEC Systems Managing Director, Peter Murphy.

“We also see Mike’s appointment as integral to research and development of new UXO technologies and techniques that the company plans to utilise,” he said.
