NSW Drought Appeal

During this festive season while we spend time with our loved ones, we’ll be thinking about our farmers in drought, and the extra pressures that providing for families at this time of year inevitably brings.

Our rural communities are not unfamiliar with environmental hardship, but it’s no secret that this drought is sending many to the wall.

Advice from those in the know is that one of the best ways you can help drought-affected communities is by spending some time and some coin there. If you are travelling through a drought-affected area over the festive season, consider breaking your journey by staying the night in the region, buying your family a meal, and helping to put a little well-earned cash back into the cash registers and back pockets of our country cousins.

Alternatively, if you are in a position to, you can donate to a registered charity such as one of these listed, to help our Aussie farmers this Christmas:

• Australian Red Cross

• Rural Aid/Buy a Bale

• Drought Angels

• Aussie Helpers

• Lions Need for Feed

• Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal

• Salvation Army
