Seventeen Shoreline Responders students enjoyed near perfect conditions on the Sunshine Coast at the end of February as they learned how to safely minimise the risk of environmental damage in the event of a marine oil spill.
Course graduates, who came from a variety of backgrounds including local government, Maritime Safety Queensland and Roadtek, now have the skills and knowledge to undertake oiled shoreline assessment, implement clean up strategies, and safely lead a team during an oiled shoreline clean-up.
This hands-on course is run on a regular basis for clients all around the country.
